Not precisely sure why this one appeals to me so much. But the cover illustration certainly helps.
Westerman wrote many stirring stories for boys in which British pluck wins through against the odds.
This copy of the 1930 reprint was awarded to a young chap who produced an excellent colouring stamp book. The date is not recorded, but it seems to have taken place at a Scout Jamboree. Imagine his pleasure and surprise at being handed this volume.
