Shall I bore you with the observation that I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a confusion of publication information on so slight a volume before? Is it a Newbury Honor book, or a Yearling book? A Dell book by Bantam Doubleday or Houghton Mifflin?

No wonder all the publishing houses merged in the 90s – they seem to have been having a terrible identity crisis.

I know that’s got nothing to do with beavers — but seriously the joke writes itself.
